When developing a tenacious attitude, it's important to remember that the difficult situation you are dealing with is only temporary. No matter how tough, stressful, or lengthy the task at hand, it is only temporary and the result will be permanent.
Three tips in fostering skills that support tenacity would include: making sure to set a schedule and sticking to it, planning ahead to get work done ahead of time, and keeping your workstation organized.
Three tips in developing a tenacious mindset would be: reminding yourself that getting the work done is the hardest part, but only temporary, reward yourself for sticking to your schedule and making sure you prioritize correctly.
Wayland. I agree with you that the course has a lot of assignments and it can be hard to keep up with. I am trying to do a better job of starting the recording assignments earlier because I have missed some as well. It seems like you know what to do to improve for the second part of the class. Keep on keeping on. My post was similar and you can check it out here: http://katieaustintx.blogspot.com/2016/02/half-way-reflection.html
ReplyDeleteHi Wayland,
ReplyDeleteI also have trouble keeping up with the assignments so now I dedicate at least 10 mins to put reminders on my phone, laptop, and calendar when certain assignments are due. In my reflection I mentioned how every point counts because if you set small goals for yourself, later you realize you are already on your way to complete the bigger which is receiving a good grade in the class and getting the most knowledge you can out of the assignments. I really like the way you described how to have a tenacious attitude being a university student it’s really important not to let everything affect you even though we are under stressful situations.
